Cooking food in clay is perhaps one of the oldest methods of cooking food. This tradition is now also applied in contemporary cuisine, thanks to the proposal of earthenware pots that allow the reproduction of the same baking characteristics in clay. knIndustrie, in collaboration with the architecture and design studio Q-Bic, presents Crete, a collection of three earthenware pots for cooking without fat and without condiments. This material allows an optimal exchange of heat and humidity and works as a perfect insulator: it heats up very slowly and transfers the absorbed heat a little at a time, guaranteeing efficient thermal performance. The Crete collection is ideal for cooking dishes that require long cooking times without sudden changes in temperature. For a better thermal maintenance result, Crete cookware is equipped with a steel lid.
