Yucatan

The Yucatan grinder, designed by Michele De Lucchi for Alessi, is an object that combines tradition, art, and functionality. Inspired by the classic twisting mechanism, it requires the use of both hands to grind salt, pepper, or spices, enhancing the slow and deliberate gesture typical of authentic cooking.

Made from exquisite beech wood, its design reveals De Lucchi's full sculptural mastery, as he has been exploring wood with sensitivity and rigor for years. Each piece is hand-finished with natural oil, which makes it unique, pleasant to the touch, and visually warm. An object designed not only to be useful but also to be experienced, touched, and left on display.
